From the Archives

We’ve started a new album on our Facebook page called, “from the archives”, where we’ll be sharing never-released photos from the Bandit9 garage. And to start, here’s a baby photo of Nero.

A First Look at Hephaestus

After 3 long months of radio silence from us, we’re back, and excited to give you a glimpse of Hephaestus. We’ll be releasing more uber juicy images of the bike real soon.

Be patient. We’re almost there.

Bandit9 in GQ France

I’m high-fiving myself right now. I love delivering good news.

I’m happy to announce that Bandit9 was featured in this month’s GQ France. I think the French edition is one of the cooler ones so it’s a huge win for us here. Obama’s on the cover so we must be doing something right.

A special thank you to Kelian Henry for sharing this with us.

I’ll try and have this translated for you soon.

How much is Nero?

hello everyone,

please forgive us for our recent radio silence. we’ve been incredibly busy juggling a number of projects.

a lot of you have emailed us about Nero’s price and availability. i’d like to make one thing clear: we do not repeat designs. when we say “one-of-a-kind bike,” we mean that in the most literal sense because we believe in originality and we believe we can do better than the last. Basically, no clones. And we always look forward, not backward.

regarding Nero’s price. we haven’t pinned a price tag on our latest baby but we’ll be sure to do that as soon as we have a moment.

we’re very close on releasing a couple of new machines. we’re doing the finishing touches on them now and we’ll be shooting these bad boys soon enough with the same gloss as the bikes themselves.

you’ll hear from us soon. that’s a promise.

Bandit9 on Megadeluxe

We’ve been very fortunate with all the recent press. Megadeluxe has just published an extensive interview with me, which is a huge honor. There are some really wonderful interviews with people from all sorts of disciplines. I probably spent a good hour (during work) just reading.

These guys only pick the cream of the crop including custom motorcycle stars such as Shinya Kimura, Dustin Kott and Scott T. form the Tarantulas. When they first approached me about the article, I wasn’t exactly comfortable being on the same page as those guys. It’s like “Daryl who? Bandit what?” But this was too large of an opportunity to pass.

A big shout out to Wes Garcia from Megadeluxe. It was an incredible pleasure to work with you and I hope you’ll have us back on your site soon. Atlas is coming.

Bandit9 on Uncrate.

This is amazing. Bandit9 made it on one of the coolest design sites EVER. Uncrate has just published Nero. These guys feature only the latest, hottest toys guys dream about. These guys are really picky. This is one of those places we’ve been trying real hard to get at and now finally…we’re in.

I’ve been trying to position ourselves as more than just a garage. I really want Bandit9 to be seen as one of the best design shops around and getting on Uncrate is a major step for us in that direction.

Thanks again, Uncrate.

So…things are going well.

So this is a real breakthrough for us at Bandit9. Nero is on the cover of one of the hottest custom bike magazines out there - Iron & Air.

We are only about 8 months old so we’re really proud of the way things are going for us. We’re really thrilled to be amongst the biggest names in the custom motorcycle world and that is really encouraging for us. Some of these guys have some serious work and it’s quite a humbling experience to be a page-flip away.

There are 5 glorious spreads of the newest beast born from our very modest workshop in Beijing. The pages are filled with really gorgeous shots of Nero, which took us an eternity to perfect.

But here’s what’s cool about Iron & Air. While other magazines and blogs focus on specs and random nerdy details that wouldn’t interest the casual reader, Iron & Air invests a lot of time and energy to paint a holistic portrait of the builders, the bikes and the inspiration. They write great stories. And they wrote a good one for us. Michael Hilton’s words make us sound a lot cooler than we actually are…we’re just a bunch of motorcycle geeks that build bikes that we would ride. Nothing more.

So here’s what I suggest to all you folks that dare to start their own garage - go get yourself a subscription to Iron & Air’s magazine. There’s a serious wealth of inspiration in their pages and it’s just damn good training.

Okay…now I’m going to get into my creative ad mode and market the bejesus out of this bike. Make sure you visit our site and check out some more shots of Nero. Here’s another shot of Nero. Pretty hot stuff.

Iron & Air: Issue One features Nero.

It’s finally out ladies and gents. And guess who’s on the cover bitches.

Unfortunately, I’m away from the office right now and can’t download this glorious magazine. I can’t wait to get back and read this beautiful gem of a publication. But you can!

Just wanna send out my love to the folks at Iron & Air. A huge thank you to Brett Houle and Michael Hilton.
